Apple’s new iPhone camera mode promises to prove your photo isn’t AI
Apple has announced a hardware authentication feature called Reference Image for the iPhone 18 Pro. It uses a new camera sensor to capture and sign sensor data for photos taken in a specific mode. This data is then processed into an unalterable version, which can be compared to edited copies to verify if changes were made.
